Curriculum Notes for 1/18/11

Math: We are working with Chapter Six which deals with Geometry.

Reading: We are working with the text, "Centerfield Ballhawk." We will work with the vocabulary skill, "Homophones and Homonyms" on Wednesday, and we will test on Friday.

Science: We are not working on science at this point.

Social Studies: We are starting our new chapter which deals with Immigration. I am so excited to get back to Social Studies! We will test on Friday.

Guided Reading: We are working with Guided Reading each day. We have also finished our Winter Rigby reading assessments, as well as our standardized District reading assessment. With this data, we have been placed in new Guided Reading groups.

Spelling: We are working on Unit 18 which is a review week. We will not have homework or a test this week.

Writing: We are working very hard at out Reading Extended Response. We are also delving heavily in Math extended response. ISAT is the first week in March.... just around the corner! We are also introducing fun descriptive writing where the students will write from the perspective of Miss Teuber's dog, Wallee Teuber!
